Clean the in-line metal filter

  1. Turn off the chiller using the touchscreen power button. Ensure the pump is off.

  2. Close both metal valves using their blue handles. The handles should be perpendicular to the hoses when they are closed.

  3. Remove the inlet hose from the chiller inlet connection.

  4. Unscrew the in-line filter metal housing from the chiller inlet connection.

  5. Clean off any debris from the metal screen of the in-line filter. The filter can be unscrewed if you need to run it under water to clean it.

  6. If the metal filter is excessively dirty, increase the frequency of cleaning to prevent chiller damage.

  7. Reinstall and in-line filter metal housing and reconnect the inlet hose.

  8. Open both metal valves using their blue handles. Ensure both handles are now parallel to the hoses.

  9. Turn on the chiller using the touchscreen power button.

  10. Ensure water begins to flow and check for leaks.

  11. Reset the maintenance reminder in the PrimalOS app.

Replacing the disposable filter

  1. Turn off the chiller using the touchscreen power button. Ensure the pump is off.

  2. Close both metal valves using their blue handles. The handles should be perpendicular to the hoses when they are closed.

  3. Squeeze both buttons on the cover on top of the chiller to remove the filter cover.

  4. Using the filter wrench, turn the filter cap counter-clockwise and remove the cap.

  5. Remove the used filter and replace it with a new filter. They are available for purchase here.

  6. Inspect the old filter. If it is excessively dirty, decrease the duration between filter changes in order to prevent damage to your chiller.

  7. Ensure the new filter is fully seated in the filter housing. Ensure the black gasket is still inside the filter cap.

  8. Reinstall the filter cap.

  9. Use the filter wrench to tighten the filter cap. Do not over tighten.

  10. Open both metal valves using their blue handles. Ensure both handles are now parallel to the hoses.

  11. Turn on the chiller using the touchscreen power button.

  12. Ensure water begins to flow and check for leaks.

  13. Bubbles in the water or water leaking from the chiller are signs of an improperly installed filter cap. Check for a properly seated gasket and proper tightness of the cap.

  14. Reset the maintenance reminder in the PrimalOS app.
